Well, I have to say that the prognosis for that sore thumb is looking good because those lines aren't sticking out at all.
But, it was nice of Lance to post my entire response without comment (except for the above) because I read through it again and every word rang true.
It's true what I said that, as in the Wiegman film, Doorman was NOT leaning in the Altgens photo. He had no reason to lean in the Altgens photo. And what looks like leaning is due to the fact that his left shoulder got cut off by the placement of Black Tie Man into the picture.
Those with any knowledge of orthopedics and kinesiology can see it at a glance.
On the left there is Doorman with BT Man removed. First, notice that his vertical axis line is straight and neutral. In other words, his head is rising up vertically and so is his spine. But the horizontal axis line of his shoulders is severely inclined. It is more severely inclined than is possible for a person to do.
But, the fact is that nobody leans with their shoulders. You lean with your spine, and your shoulders just go along for the ride.
So, in the above picture, he appears to be straight and neutral through his spine while leaning severely through his shoulders, and that just isn't possible. The human body doesn't work like that. He is a monstrosity, a gargoyle.
But, on the right, we see how he really was, with his left shoulder restored. He was just standing there comfortably with a little bit of right rotation (which turned him towards Kennedy) while clasping his hands in front.
And there you have it. That was the reality. Doorman wasn't leaning. He was turned, rotated, twisted a little bit. Big difference between that and leaning.
Hey Lance, put this blog up too in its entirety, would you? No comments needed. It speaks for itself.
