The whole thing about that movie is very strange. That big cop in the white hat led Oswald on a trek through that building- a maze- and it was all to get him back to that storage room in the back of the homicide division. Who told him to take Oswald there? Somebody must have told him. I doubt it was his idea. He was just a courier.
But, when he got there, he looked at it and froze. Why? Well, maybe it's because he expected someone to be there. Maybe he thought that someone was going to be waiting there, like Fritz, for him to hand Oswald off to. So, maybe the problem was that the room was empty, and he knew very well that he couldn't just leave Oswald in an empty room and walk away. He had to transfer Oswald to somebody.
So, what exactly happened? Someone must have told the big cop to take Oswald there, but who? And who was supposed to be there to receive Oswald and relieve the big cop of the responsibility? Who told the big cop to take Oswald there? Who ordered the whole procession?
And what happened next? There wasn't anyone there to receive Oswald in that other interview room either. It would be 1 hour and 14 minutes before Oswald's first interrogation would begin. But even getting Oswald from the storage room to the interview room that was caddie-corner was a major ordeal with all those people in the room, including Lovelady at the desk. And since the cameras were rolling up to that point, why don't we see it go down? Why the gap? How did it get clipped?
How come in Three Shots the big cop and Oswald never get anywhere near that storage room door? They are just walking interminably towards that back wall; we get a clear shot of Lovelady in his plaid shirt; and then it breaks to a newscaster.
It's because Lovelady was the star. It was all about him. All the rest was fluff. This is how Nazi propaganda movies are made.
