So, David Lifton thinks that Billy Lovelady did tell the FBI that he wore a red and white striped shirt on the day of the assassination, but Lifton thinks that he was lying.
That is wild. I have a feeling that even my enemies will agree with me that Lifton has flipped out. Why would Lovelady lie to the FBI? The FBI are pretty intimidating guys, and it's not easy to lie to them. And Lovelady hadn't done anything wrong, so why would he start by lying to the FBI?
This reminds me of the people who think that Oswald didn't kill Kennedy but did kill Tippit. But, if Oswald hadn't done anything wrong, why would he start by killing Tippit? It doesn't make sense.
But, let's remember it's not just what Lovelady said; it's what he did. He showed up on the day in which pictures were to be taken dressed in those very clothes. And he let them pose him for the pictures with his shirt unbuttoned like Doorman. So, he was dressed and configured like Doorman in those clothes. Why would he do that unless they were the same clothes?
And, we have a very frank, categorical, unambiguous statement: "He stated he was wearing a red and white vertical striped shirt and blue jeans." How could they get that wrong? He must have said it, and it had to be pre-arranged. Because otherwise, it was just a coincidence that they said that he said it, and he showed up wearing those exact clothes. And I'm sure that at this late date, I don't have to tell you what I think of JFK coincidences and those who espouse them.
Billy Lovelady did NOT lie to the FBI. And he didn't lie to the Warren Commission either. There is no evidence that he ever told either one that he was the Doorway Man in the Altgens photo. Joseph Ball deliberately avoided asking Lovelady about it directly. He took the roundabout tactic of having Lovelady draw an arrow to himself- an arrow which got drawn to Black Hole Man who was wearing a short-sleeved shirt.
Odds are very great that we are looking at the same guy here in these three pictures below. Guys don't actually wind up headless in photographs just from shielding their eyes.
