Oswald in the doorway: the blog of the Oswald Innocence Campaign, by Ralph Cinque

Another thing that has always bothered me about the Hughes film is that it shows Oswald hovering right above Roy Lewis, but we know from the Wiegman film, that they were far apart. 

Doorman was in the center in Wiegman, and he was in the center in Altgens too. It only looks like he's next to the west wall because of the sharp angle from which Altgens was shooting. In Altgens, the west side of the doorway is cut from Altgens' view.

The curtain of visibility cuts right through Oswald's right shoulder, and that's why it is only partially seen.

Doorman was standing just a hair west of center. He was on the top landing, just a few inches west of the center handrail. 

Back on the forums, there were many who tried to claim that he was east of the handrail. They wanted to claim that his left arm was going in front of his body and grabbing the handrail. Craig Lamson, Albert Doyle, Steve Haydon, and Robin Unger all said that. Of course, that was ridiculous because nobody would grab a handrail that way. They would use their arm closest to the handrail. And, Oswald was not doing that; he was just standing there clasping his hands, as he often liked to do.

But, the point is that both Wiegman and Altgens show us that Oswald was in the center. So, why does he appear to be hovering above Roy Lewis in Hughes?

I can't answer that, but I do find it strange. Is it possible that Oswald was first standing right above Lewis, and then he relocated to the center where we see him in Altgens and Wiegman? 

It would have been physically possible, but I doubt it, and I don't think it's reasonable to assume it. Oswald was a loner; everybody said so. So, why would he plant himself right above Roy Lewis, where he's breathing down his neck? And it's especially true when you consider that the west side of the doorway wasn't very populated, and there was plenty of room to spread out.  

Then, there's the issue of their sizes. I'm told that Roy Lewis was a very big man, like 6'3" and well over 200 pounds. Oswald was 5'9" and 131 pounds. Shouldn't they have looked like George and Lenny? But, they don't. 

I suspect the above image was photoshopped, which I don't like, but even so, I'm only interested in comparing the relative sizes of Roy Lewis and Oswald, and I would say that, if anything, Oswald looks larger than Roy Lewis. And you know that can't be right.

When you watch the intact film, you really can't make out anything. It would be from 37 seconds to 40 seconds:

As I watch it, the Oswald figure seems to be flickering in and out. What I mean is that in some frames there seems to be two men there, but in other frames, you see hardly any of the Oswald figure. That's my impression, but look for yourself. And if anyone, friend or foe, has a link to a higher quality version of the Hughes film, they should post it. I would prefer that to a clip. 

But, I've seen some of the clips, and they appear to show an awful lot, where it looks like the Oswald figure is either saluting or running his hand through his hair with his hand. If someone has got that clip, I wouldn't mind seeing it again. But, it's nothing that we can see in the intact film, and that's unsettling. 

So, what is the truth about all this? I don't know. But, what I do know is that it conflicts with the information we get from the Wiegman film and the Altgens photo. And of course, they also conflict with each other.
