Backass, my original statement was that Saturday was the day that the Altgens photo hit the papers, meaning that's when the big wave occurred.
But hey, it's Resch's statement, not mine. HE made a categorical statement that the Altgens photo was published on Saturday. Period. He didn't qualify it. That means something, and what it means is that his understanding was that Saturday was the day in which it appeared in the papers.
So, if you are going to argue with someone you need to argue with him. He said Saturday. He said it was published on Saturday. That's plain English, Backass.
And to this day, nobody has cited a major metropolitan newspaper that published it on Friday. Why didn't the Dallas Times Herald publish it on Friday? It was an AP paper. And they had to know about it from the start, being in Dallas. In fact, they probably could have gotten a copy directly because they were the AP paper in Dallas. They were right there. They didn't have to wait for a fax.
So, why didn't they publish it, Backes? Their editor just didn't think it was newsworthy? Is that it? Resch said Saturday, Backass!
