I rephrased a comment I made on the group page since bpete misinterpreted it and miscast it. It now reads:
"Fritz wrote down that Oswald told him he rode the bus and cab. Fritz entered the cab fare as eighty five cents, even though according to Whaley it was ninety five. But, we put a lot of stock in the authenticity of Fritz writing down that Oswald told him he was "out with Bill Shelley in front". There are no grounds to think that Fritz was being truthful when he wrote that but that in the same notes he was lying when he wrote that Oswald told him about the bus and cab. These were notes to and for himself and no one else. So, it definitely appears that Oswald said he rode the bus and cab."
And the simple fact is that Lovelady was being very abbreviated in the brief statement he made to Dallas Police, but the Warren Commission had him expound upon it when he testified to them, hence the "trek to the tracks" was included.
What's the alternative? That Lovelady's WC testimony was concocted? Invented? Made up?
Hey Wee Cock Sparra! We have one Joseph Backes, and that's enough; we don't need another. So, no need to morph into him. Next, you'll be extolling a mysterious African-American waving from the sidewalk and calling for the beatification of Richard E. Sprague.
