So, why didn't they show the footage of the great reversal when they backed Oswald out of the room? It's precisely because they would have had to show Lovelady again, and they didn't have him to show in the first place.
Remember, this is how it really looked going in: Lovelady wasn't there.
It was hard enough to get him installed at the desk for the trek in; they weren't going to do it again for the trek out. Once was enough. They showed the plaid shirt. That's all they were interested in. It wasn't going to make it any more convincing to show it again. The point was made. So why take a chance on a phony rendering? Instead, you just leave it out. Who's going to miss it, right? Why take any unnecessary chances? And why make more work for yourself?
There is absolutely no doubt that the great reversal was cut out. They turned around and walked Oswald back past that desk, but, they didn't show it. Not in any version did they show it. And that's because they didn't have Lovelady; he wasn't there; and they didn't want to fake it again.
