This ia a good collage that Paul Stevens made. That mother on the left is definitely holding that boy with both her arms, as her hands are clasped. The boy is pretty much sitting on her left forearm, as it is making a seat for him. But no way would that one forearm be strong enough by itself to support him. So, she has her right arm coming over to reinforce it, creating a sling effect. The boy is effectively in front of her, pinched between her arm and her chest, which is holding him very securely. But, the Altgens woman isn't doing anything like that. She simply can't be holding that boy up. So, how can he be so elevated? Thank you, Paul.
