Besides the obvious difference of a flashy geometric pattern versus a non-descript one, there are other differences that remove any possibility of these two being the same man. The open sprawl on the left is completely missing on the right. There is no chance that the man on the right is splayed open. We can see his collar on both sides. He simply has his top button undone, and that is all. It is a night and day difference between them. And, on the left we get a distinct impression of skinniness while on the right, we get a distinct impression of heftiness.  Then, there is the difference in head-shape: rectangular on the left with a vertical forehead, and extremely oval on the right, with one long continuous curve from the top of his head down to his brow bones. There is just no way they can be the same man. It is out of the question.
