Early on, I wrote to him a few times, but I haven't in months, and I never have through any Czech mailer. Joseph Backes claims to be an Oswald innocent CT, but he colludes with lone-nutters, and he defends every film and photograph there is. He denies there was any nefarious manipulation of any image relating to the JFK assassination. He claims that the Dallas Police manufactured phony evidence and phony witnesses to place Oswald on a bus and cab and that they did this in an elaborate effort that began immediately after his arrest. He claims that long swaths of Warren Commission testimony were invented out of thin air. For instance, he claims that everything that Lovelady said about having walked down to the railroad tracks with Bill Shelley was completely made up. Pages of testimony, all of it was completely invented out of thin air. Yet, he accepts Lovelady's testimony about the Altgens photo, and the way it is officially interpreted, as legitimate. This despite the fact that Lovelady was never asked directly whether he was Doorway Man; he never said he was Doorway Man; and Joseph Ball instead had him draw an arrow in the dark so that it couldn't be seen. Yet, the only other mark on that photograph besides Frazier's arrow is a line on the forearm of Black Hole Man. Thank goodness we can see the tail end of Lovelady's arrow.  

    

And before I discovered that, Richard Hooke determined that Black Hole Man was Lovelady. I give you Billy Lovelady three times.

Joseph Backes has NEVER said one word in defense of Lee Harvey Oswald. He NEVER says anything critical of John McAdams, David Von Pein, SV Andersen, Vincent Bugliosi, Gerald Posner or any other lone-nutter. Instead, he fights with me over a very obvious and undeniable fact, that Lee Harvey Oswald was standing in the doorway of the Book Depository during the shooting of President Kennedy. 

But, awareness of that fact has grown leaps and bounds since we got started. The notion that it is a foregone conclusion that it was Billy Lovelady has been utterly destroyed. And it is never coming back to stature. Today, one either knows full-well that it was Oswald in the doorway OR one knows full well that the controversy is raging. Either way, it is an unassailable victory for us. And along the way, I have won David Wrone, Mark Lane, Gerald McKnight, and many others. 

And that whole trend is going to continue. It was Oswald in the doorway, Oswald in the doorway, Oswald in the doorway. You can't stop it, Backes. You can't slow it down. And you can't help but be overrun by it. It's only going to get worse for you and for all Kennedy-killers.
