The Fedora Man in Altgens is behind the Woman and Boy, but he is also a little bit west of them. His left shoulder extends beyond the back of the boy in a plane that is northwestern. But, in Towner, the Fedora Man they like is totally east of the Woman and child. 

So how could the shoulder of that Fedora Man appear to be west of the baby? 

If I had to say who was closer to the Obelisk in Altgens, I would say that the Fedora Man is closer to it than the woman or the boy.

But, in Towner, the woman and baby are much closer to the Obelisk than the Fedora Man.
