Here's another consideration. When people are young, they tend to stand straighter, more erect. When they get older, they tend to slump more. It's a universal tendency.

When we look at this figure in the doorway, we see someone who is standing very erect.


It is screaming out loud that that is not an old person. Look at that length in the neck. Look how straight the back is, with no rounding at all. NO ROUNDING AT ALL! That is about as lengthened as a person can get. But now look at the old lady.


There's definitely some slumping going on there. The downward pull of gravity is manifesting more. His anti-gravity reflexes are working much better than hers. 


This isn't so much a male/female thing. It's more of a young person/old person thing. The uprightness, the verticality, the lengthening we see on the left is an attribute of youth. People get lumpen and sunken with age. And by the way, being aware of it, I am doing my best to fight it in myself. But, do I stand as straight and erect as that guy on the left?  Unfortunately, no.
