Chana Gail Spainhouer Willis has 40-plus years of professional experience in the fields of publishing, photography, writing, business and finance administration, consulting, media & investor relations (high-tech industry) and economic development (public policy & speaking). Born in 1960 to of Anna Klein (Philadelphia, PA), and Freddie Philmon Spainhouer (Wichita Falls and Dallas, TX, U.S. Navy,- retired, MCPO/PTCM). Willis began her love of writing early at the age of 13, first published in the Dallas Times Herald award-winning article "The Qualities of Leadership." She is a graduate of Texas Tech University (1983, BBA-Finance), and attended Abilene Christian University. In the past, Mrs. Willis has served on numerous boards, including Executive Director of the Wood County Industrial Commission, trustee on the Winnsboro Communities Foundation, Northeast Texas Economic Developers Roundtable, East Texas Economic Development District (ETEDD), Whitewright Volunteer Fire Dept. and Planning and Zoning board, Executive Editor of McKinney Living Magazine, owner/publisher of "The Whitewright Rose." Willis is a recipient of the Texas Governor's esteemed "Yellow Rose of Texas" award; recognizing outstanding Texas women for their significant contributions to their communities in the preservation of history, the accomplishments of the present, and the building of the future. In 2011, Mrs. Willis was awarded The Order of St. Joan D'Arc Medallion, the top volunteerism award given by the United States Armor Association, rarely given to those who have voluntarily made contributions of great significance to the morale, welfare, and spirit of armor and cavalry units in the United States Army. Mrs. Willis volunteered for over 20 years in the Texas National Guard Family program. Hobbies include Ford Model A vintage cars, Auctioneering, Writing and Photography. Mrs. Willis lives in East Texas with her husband, David "Tex" Willis, U.S. Army- retired, and together they have 4 children.
