This image of Robert Oswald's hand demonstrates how much smaller and shorter the thumb is than the other fingers. The thumb starts closer to the wrist, so it can't extend as far. So, what we're seeing in the Jackson photo is impossible if it's supposed to be one hand. His thumb could not possibly be that big, that long, and extend that far. On the left, if that's one hand, it's a monstrosity.
