It's been a bad day for Richard Hooke. He made two claims about finding images of Jack Ruby in lower Dealey Plaza after the shooting, and it turns out that neither one was Ruby.

This turned out to be a black man by the name of John Chism. That was his wife and child. And he didn't have a gun in his hand, as Richard alleged. That was just an artifact, an optical illusion caused by shadow. She handed the kid off to him, and a moment later he was running with the child.

The other one involved this picture, which Richard claimed to be Ruby:

And it turned out to be someone else:

So, it's been a humiliating day for Richard and, indirectly, for the Oswald Innocence Campaign. But, there has been absolutely no harm done to our thesis or to our body of work. These are very minor issues that have no presence on the OIC website.

How did it happen? I suspect it was because Richard got carried away with the sight of a Fedora hat. The fact is that they were still very popular back in the early '60s.

Does this give me pause about any of the claims that I make or cause me to reassess them? Well, I am constantly reassessing my own claims and playing the devil's advocate with myself. I don't have to be told to do that. And I can tell you that I am rock-solid in my confidence concerning all the claims I make, including: Oswald being in the doorway, Lovelady not being in the Squad room or outside the TSBD after the assassination, Roy Lewis not being where we see him in the Altgens photo, the Altgens Woman and Boy not being in Dealey Plaza, and the Towner Woman and Baby not being anywhere because they didn't exist; they weren't real.

Of course, there are more claims that I make, but I can't think of any that I have the slightest doubt about it. I am truly rock-solid about everything, and if I weren't rock-solid about something, it would be gone, presto. I am well aware that the number of mistakes I can afford to make is zero.

Anyway, Richard Hooke has done some good work. He was the first to recognize that Black Hole Man was Lovelady, which got confirmed when I discovered the arrow that Lovelady drew to Black Hole Man in CE 369 to indicate himself. But, I only looked for it there because of what Richard had figured out. So, Richard has contributed mightily to our progress, for which I'm grateful, and hopefully, there will be no more days like today for him going forward.
