It's her, Backes. She has the same features as she did years later.

Some idiot faked that signing. What mother signs something like that to her son? Maybe Backes proudly displayed a signed picture like that from his mother in his college dorm. But, a woman doesn't generally write things like that to her son. And guess what? If you do the Math, you discover that Robert Oswald was only 1 year old at that time. And that makes it even more freaky and even more fake.
