Unger knows that this image of Hughes Lovelady is distorted, and it's his image.
He knows it as well as I know it, but he and Backes have been trying to dance around it for weeks by posting frames in which the shirt looks OK or by showing it so small that it doesn't register. What they don't want to address is WHY it is distorted, and the reason it is distorted is because it is an unstable image. And the reason it is unstable is because it is a video merger that went wrong. It took several seconds to reach the synchronization and stability of the rest of the film. What you are seeing on the left is distortion or noise. And there is about 3 seconds of it at the beginning of the Lovelady clip in the Hughes film.
It is not the fault of Youtube. It is the way the film is. And there is no version which doesn't have it.
They altered the Hughes film to put a Lovelady figure in it, and they did the same with the Martin film. Both have the tell-tale signs, but they're different. Both went wrong but in different ways.
