Lovelady posed 3X as Doorman after the assassination. It's 4 if you count the FBI photos from 2/29/64 but that time he didn't wear a plaid shirt but rather the striped shirt that he actually wore on the day of the assassination.
The 1967 photo was taken by CBS for their 4 hour televised special program on the assassination, but they never used it. You see, they were originally going to include the Doorman issue, but then someone, wisely, pulled the plug on it- realizing that there was a lot to lose and nothing to gain. After all, just talking about it and reminding viewers that there was this controversy, that Oswald may have been standing in the doorway at the time of the shots, was only going to weaken the official story.
I do not know what provoked the 1971 photo of Lovelady by Bob Jackson. I do know that Lovelady was not standing where he stood on 11/22/63, and he was not standing where Doorman stood either.
As you can see, he was on the 3rd step from the bottom, and both he and Oswald were on the top landing on the fateful day. Lovelady told Joseph Balls that he was "on your top level".
And we all know how Robert Groden happened to take his pictures of Lovelady; it was in connection with the HSCA. But, Groden didn't do it in Dealey Plaza but rather at Lovelady's home in Colorado.
There really wasn't any point to this. Groden should have taken Lovelady to Dealey Plaza and tried to recreate the Altgens photo. But then again, that would have uncovered the truth, so I understand why he didn't do it. Groden was being loyal to his masters at the HSCA.
But, let's not forget the picture of Gorilla Man which also displays the same shirt.
Why did Lovelady pose with his shirt splayed open when it wasn't like that on 11/22/63? How come we don't see the big pocket flap on '67 and '76 Lovelady as we do on Gorilla Lovelady? The same question can be asked of '71 Lovelady.
It's hard to tell if there was even a pocket there, but there was definitely no flap. '71 Lovelady was flapless.
