Unger mistakenly believes that this is good for his story:
He's got the name Harold Weisberg blocked in red. But, notice what Harold said: Billy Lovelady having a beard. A beard? Billy Lovelady didn't have a beard. Ken Brooten specifically asked him in 1976 whether he had a beard that day, and Lovelady's response was that he was clean-shaven. You can listen to it here:
So, what you posted is definitely a phony image of a phony Lovelady masquerading as Lovelady. It wasn't him. Whether Harold Weisberg came to realize that before he died, I can't say for sure, but what I can say for sure is that this is definitely not the real Billy Lovelady. It is a phony image made to tell a lie.
Lovelady did NOT have a beard, and he did NOT wear a longsleeved plaid shirt that day. He wore a short-sleeved striped one.
That is Billy Lovelady as he really was, in what he really wore.
