So, here's what I think: I don't think it involved a stretcher because Leavelle wouldn't have lied about that. And I don't think he removed the cuffs in the garage because he had no reason to lie about that either. So, I think the choices are that either Oswald helped, where he wasn't really shot, and he scurried out of there under cover on his own power OR Leavelle was never really handcuffed to him. I mean, after all: Was it really necessary for Leavelle to be handcuffed to Oswald? What for? If Oswald was handcuffed, the usual way, and if each detective had him by the arm, and they were just walking 20 feet to a car, how is that not good enough?
