For years, I have thought about doing a song with both Karen Mitchell and Paul Popa, and now it's happened. And for me, it was a very special occasion. The song is The Shadow of Your Smile by Johnny Mandel, which was written for Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton for their 1965 movie The Sandpiper. I always thought the song had a Latin quality to it, so we performed it to a Salsa rhythm, which I think worked well.

Also, I wrote the instrumental interlude for this rendition, and you'll see me shift to it. I have my own system for writing sheet music. It's crude, but it works for me.

I don't know if and when the opportunity will come again, but I am very glad I got to do this with Karen and Paul.
