Dumbo Joseph Backes thinks he's got a trump card in this:

"Jack Beers is standing on something giving him an elevated position which Bob Jackson does not have, to say nothing of the clear fact that Jackson is several feet to the left of where Jack Beers was photographing from.  So, d'uh, their photographs are not going to be exact copies of each other."

Yeah, I know that, Backes. Everybody knows that. Beers was, reportedly, standing on a ladder, and Jackson was left, and Beers was right. But, that does NOT explain or rationalize the very blatant discrepancies between the two photos.

Beers being several feet to the right of Jackson and a bit elevated on a ladder in no way accounts for the looming presence of Blackie Harrison in Jackson, as he takes a drag from his cigarette and extends his gorilla arm into the action, a presence that is totally absent from Beers. In Beers, all we see of him is a partial view of his face in profile, and he isn't doing anything. So, how can that possibly be the same scene separated by a split-second in time? Then, there is the guy in the light trench coat who is Beers but not Jackson. Why shouldn't we see him in Jackson if it's the same setup? Jackson's position would not have rendered him invisible. Then, there is the really tall guy who is directly behind Leavelle in Beers but absent from the Jackson photo. What about the guy who is turned 90 degrees to the action in Beers, who seems to be totally missing from the Jackson photo?

No, no, no. You don't sweep all that under the rug just by saying this, like it gives you a free pass:

"Jack Beers is standing on something giving him an elevated position which Bob Jackson does not have, to say nothing of the clear fact that Jackson is several feet to the left of where Jack Beers was photographing from.  So, d'uh, their photographs are not going to be exact copies of each other."

The problem is not that they are not exact copies of each other; it is that they are fatally different. And when I say "fatally" I mean fatal to the credibility of the story, that these were two photos taken .6 second apart.

So, this year, last year, next year, it doesn't matter. You're stupid in any year, Backes.  It would take a lot more than the turning of the calendar to fix what's wrong with you.
