Freddie Philmon "Phil" Spainhouer 1923 - 2014 Obituary Condolences Spainhouer, Freddie Philmon "Phil" Age 91, of Dallas, Texas, passed away at his home on August 25, 2014. Phil was born in a farm house near Burkburnett just outside Wichita Falls, Texas on February 11, 1923 to Fred Braden Spainhouer and Myrtle Viola (Houston) Spainhouer, the third of four children. Phil is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Anna (Klein) Spainhouer; two children, Fredd Steven Spainhouer and wife, Maritza of McKinney, Texas, and Chana Gail Spainhouer Willis and husband, David "Tex" Willis of Winnsboro, Texas; granddaughter, Audrey M. Willis of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Freddie Jesus "Chuy" Spainhouer of McKinney, Texas, Robert "Bobby" S. Willis of Winnsboro, Texas, and Dalton R. Willis of Denison, Texas. He is also survived by beloved sister, Golda Spainhouer Young of Dallas, Texas and sister-in-law, Lois Allen Spainhour of Greenville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cleddie W. Spainhouer and sister, Helen Spainhouer Klima. Phil was a member of the Church of Christ. He grew up in the Liberty Grove community near Wylie, and graduated from Garland High School in 1940. Phil's career in the Navy spanned from 1941-1963, with a short time after WWII to attend Southern Methodist University in 1946-7. Phil retired from the Navy in November 1963, E9 Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO/PTCM) Photographic Intelligence. Phil retired from the Dallas Fire Dept., Chief Photographer, 1973-1988. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening, August 27, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Restland Memorial Chapel, 9220 Restland Drive, Dallas, Texas. Interment will take place immediately following at the Highland garden section at Restland Memorial Park. Flowers appreciated or memorial donations may be made payable to Christian Firefighters Association" and marked in the memo "memorial service fund" and mailed to the Dallas Fire Dept.
